If you’re looking for affordable, natural, dramatic and long lasting skin improvements, look no further.

I’m sure that you have seen posts and photos on the internet of Hollywood stars before and after receiving micro needling treatments. Micro needling is one of the most effective methods of producing significant collagen remodeling for the purpose of removing acne scars, reducing fine lines and the reduction of pore size. Micro needling  treatments stimulate the body’s own wound healing response within the lower layers of the skin, where all the “work” is done. In collagen induction therapy the esthetician causes thousands of micro injuries to the dermal and sub dermal layers of the skin by using a state of the art device which creates small punctures in the treated area. These tiny injuries  immediately start a natural repairing process. This process involves a cascade of events, which over the next several weeks causes mending in the lower layers of the skin. Part of the skin’s natural healing process is the production of collagen (a protein that gives skin its firmness) and elastin (a protein that gives skin its elasticity). The skin becomes thicker and thicker skin is healthier skin.

Micro needling is a much more conservative treatment for those looking for skin rejuvenation.  Unlike many laser procedures which require days and sometimes weeks of down time while the skin heals, most clients who choose micro needling are able to resume normal activities within 24 hours.  Some see results from the initial treatment with a reduction in the size of facial pores and softening of fine lines, but the real magic takes place deep within the skin over the next four to six weeks as the production of collagen and elastin increases.

Micro needling can be done on almost any body part and in addition to reducing fine lines and wrinkles  is excellent for reducing scars and stretch marks.  Unlike many other skin rejuvenation therapies, micro needling can safely be used on darker skin without fear of causing hyper-pigmentation (dark spots) and does not make the skin sensitive to the sun.

What to Expect

Many clients fear that the micro needling procedure will be painful.  Use of a numbing cream 30 minutes before we begin the procedure greatly reduces discomfort, but you can expect to feel some pressure and a scratching sensation, especially in areas that are bony, where the skin is thinner.   Following the procedure, your skin will be reddened, much like a sunburn. You may even have some pin point bleeding immediately following micro needling. I follow the treatment with a cooling and hydrating mask that reduces the redness and irritation.  I ask that you keep your skin clean (no make-up) and use the post-procedure skin repair cream for at least the first 24 hours. After that time period, you can return to your normal daily skin care regimen, though I suggest using a epidural growth factor cream or gel to enhance your result.

Before Your Treatment

Please do not use any products containing Retin -A in the 12 hours preceding your treatment.  If you are prone to cold sores, please take your medication for one day before treatment and for the two days following treatment to reduce the chance of a flair up. You should also avoid exposure to the sun and tanning beds during the 24 hours before treatment.

After your Treatment

Keep your skin clean and well hydrated.  Please avoid all products containing Vitamin A and Vitamin C , alpha- hydroxy and beta-hydroxy acids and of course, avoid sun exposure for the first 24 hours.

How Many?  How Often?

Micro needling treatments can be performed every 4 to 6 weeks to maximize collagen and elastin production.  The number of treatments needed depend on the level of damage to your skin and the overall result you desire.  Many clients get great results in about four treatments.

So, can your skin use a little tune up?  Give me a call and set up a consultation appointment.
